A workshop on sustainable urban development in Vietnam held for Vietnamese urban development experts

November 25, 2020 - The Asia Foundation Korea and Vietnam, with the support of the KDI School of Public Policy and Management held an online-offline blended workshop on “Sustainable Urban Development: Korea’s Experiences in Smart and Human-Centered City Planning and Practice." The workshop was organized for Vietnamese participants in the urban development areas from government, think tanks, multilateral organization and private sector. Composed of two sessions, the workshop covered two topics mainly; ‘Smart City Development Policies and Practices’ and ‘Understanding a Smart City: Smart Cities Should Be Human Centered’.

 

Various Korean experts shared their expertise and perspectives regarding smart and human-centered city planning and practice, and the experts are from different organizations including Korean Land and Housing Corporation, Seoul Urban Solutions Agency, University of Seoul, Konkuk University, Korea Transport Institute, and Incheon Research Institute of Public Health and Environment. Connected virtually, Korean and Vietnamese Urban Development experts exchanged their views and questions regarding the speakers’ presentation on the topic. Through this workshop, both countries learned from each other's experiences and reconfirmed the potential value of sustainable urban development.
