Dr. Kyungjin Song Highlights Strengthening Korea-India Cooperation at 1.5 Track Forum in India
September 5, 2024 - Dr. Kyungjin Song, the Country Representative of The Asia Foundation Korea Office, participated as a panelist in a 1.5-track forum titled "Navigating Global Uncertainty: Redefining ROK-India Relations," on August 28 in Delhi, India. The forum was co-organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in India and the Ananta Centre, a major Indian think tank. During the forum, Dr. Song emphasized the growing economic ties between Korea and India, driven by their significant roles in the Indo-Pacific region and the need for supply chain resilience. She highlighted India's substantial investments in manufacturing sectors like semiconductors, automobiles, and defense, where collaboration with Korea shows great potential. Dr. Song also discussed the importance of skilled workforce, infrastructure, and R&D investment in advancing these partnerships. Dr. Kyungjin SONG met with Chuncheon Mayor YUK Dong-han to discuss cooperation
September 3, 2024 - Dr. Kyungjin SONG paid a courtesy visit to Chuncheon Mayor YUK Dong-han on Tuesday, September 3, to discuss potential collaboration between The Asia Foundation and Chuncheon City. Both parties agreed to identify specific areas for cooperation and to strengthen collaboration on issues of mutual interest in Asia and the Pacific in partnership with country offices of The Asia Foundation.
The Asia Foundation Hosts ‘Northeast Asia Climate Youth Exchange 2024’
September 3, 2024 – The Asia Foundation Korea Office organized Northeast Asia Climate Youth Exchange on net-zero transition from August 25 to 30. 12 delegates selected from Korea, China, Japan, and Mongolia attended Political Economy Analysis Workshop on August 25 and 26 and were equipped with policy recommendation frameworks. The workshop was followed by meetings with Ministry of Environment, Presidential Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth, UNESCAP, Green Climate Fund (GCF), Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER), Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO), POSCO, THANKS CARBON, and Korea Federation for Environmental Movement (KFEM). In the meetings, delegates exchanged ideas on each organization’s efforts and challenges to achieve net-zero. ..
