The Asia Foundation Hosts ‘Northeast Asia Climate Youth Exchange 2024’

September 3, 2024 – The Asia Foundation Korea Office organized Northeast Asia Climate Youth Exchange on net-zero transition from August 25 to 30.

 

 

 

12 delegates selected from Korea, China, Japan, and Mongolia attended Political Economy Analysis Workshop on August 25 and 26 and were equipped with policy recommendation frameworks.

 

 

            

 

 

The workshop was followed by meetings with Ministry of Environment, Presidential Commission on Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth, UNESCAP, Green Climate Fund (GCF), Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER), Korea Research Institute of Ships and Ocean Engineering (KRISO), POSCO, THANKS CARBON, and Korea Federation for Environmental Movement (KFEM). In the meetings, delegates exchanged ideas on each organization’s efforts and challenges to achieve net-zero.

 

 

            

 

   

In the closing session, delegates presented their policy recommendations to Korea, China, Japan, and Mongolia for net-zero transition. The Country Representatives of Korea, China, and Mongolia participated in the closing session.

 

The Asia Foundation Korea plans to continue fostering young leaders for global climate actions.
