August 1, 2023 - Now accepting applications for the 2024 Asia Foundation Development Fellows: Emerging Leadership for Asia’s Future program.

The Asia Foundation is searching for its tenth cohort of highly talented Development Fellows. Applications will be accepted through August 28, 2023.

Launched in 2014 to engage and empower a dynamic community of emerging leaders from across the Asia-Pacific, the Asia Foundation Development Fellows program brings together a group of accomplished individuals, under 40 years of age who are deeply committed to building an inclusive Asia-Pacific and securing lasting change on the ground. Now in its tenth year, the program includes 107 current and alumni fellows across the Asia-Pacific, forming an active and inspirational network of the region’s most promising leaders from diverse cultures, countries, and work environments, including government, civil society, academia, and social enterprise.

This year-long career advancement program takes on a multifaceted approach to leadership development which includes two intensive, in-person modules, one in Asia and a second in the United States, as well as year-round support through mentorship, coaching and a flexible grant. The in-person coursework explores Fellows’ leadership styles, helps fellows to effectively articulate their story, and develops their approach to problem solving and innovative thinking.

The program will commence in February 2024 with a two-week Leadership Training Program and study tour in Cambodia, where Fellows engage with dive into their authentic leadership journey and meet with development practitioners to understand the mechanics of change on the ground. In October 2024, the Fellows will visit San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and New Orleans for a two-week Leadership Dialogue and Exchange program, visiting innovative organizations while continuing to examine their leadership journey. A flexible professional development award of US $5,000 will also be provided to each Fellow to use throughout the Fellowship year. Additionally, Fellows will be matched with a mentor tailored to their background and professional interests and have access to a fixed number of one-on-one executive coaching session with a professional leadership coach.
