June 30, 2022 - The Asia Foundation successfully organized an online event featuring women entrepreneurs who had been trained through Personal Initiative (PI) Training on the 24th of May 2022.

Through April 12 to May 17, three women entrepreneurs, certified as PI trainers conducted a six-week online training program for the first batch of women entrepreneurs in Gyeonggi province. The PI trainers were trained earlier in 2021 through The Asia Foundation’s PI Training of Trainer’s Program. The offline event was joined by the three PI trainers and trained women entrepreneurs participated in the pilot PI training sessions in 2021 and the sessions for the first batch this year. At the ending ceremony, each participants shared their remarks on the training, while one participant commented, “It was an honor to be a part of the training where I grew as an initiative entrepreneur, and I would like to thank my trainer who was more than willing to provide help.” During the networking session in the event, participants spent a fruitful time, signing business agreements and sharing thoughts on running a business.

The Personal Initiative Women Entrepreneur Association (PIWA) founded by the three PI Trainers was also introduced during the event. Ms. Park Ji-woo, the Director of the Association, provided an introductory presentation to the participants. Some participating women entrepreneurs showed interest and became members of the Association and it became a thread for future interactions among the women entrepreneurs.
