New Board Members Appointed in the Friends of The Asia Foundation Appoints

Dr. Min Sunshik, Chairman of YBM Holdings, was appointed as the new chairman of Friends of The Asia Foundation. He replaces Chairman Moon Kook-Hyun, who will continue to serve Friends of The Asia Foundation as a Board of Director Emeritus. Ms. Sung Rae Eun, President and CEO of Youngone Holdings and Mr. Hong Jeongdo, Vice Chairman and CEO of JoongAng Holdings & JoongAng Ilbo have become the new Board members. They join The Asia Foundation President David Arnold, former South Korean Ambassador Kathleen Stephens, current Ewha Womans University President Kim Eun Mee, and former Minister Kim Jin-Hyun. Friends of The Asia Foundation Korea (FOTAF) is a non-profit support organization for the Foundation’s program in Korea. Impact for Breakfast (IFB) Seoul presents New Policy Recommendations on ESG and Sustainable Finance at the National Assembly

April 19, 2022 – The Asia Foundation organized a dissemination event at the National Assembly to present IFB Seoul’s new policy recommendations report on ESG and sustainable finance to the next administration of the Republic of Korea. IFB is a global network of family offices, philantropists, and impact investors. The Asia Foundation manages the Seoul Chapter. The event was co-hosted by a bi-partisan group of Korean parliament members: Cho Jung-hun (Transition Korea Party), Kim Sung-Joo (Democratic Party of Korea), and Cho Hae-Jin (People's Power Party). The report was presented by Chairman Chung Jinho (The Wells Investment). Women Entrepreneurs in Gyeonggi Province Officially Certified as New Personal Initiative Trainers through The Asia Foundation’s PI Training of Trainers Program

April 8, 2022 - The Asia Foundation trained three women entrepreneurs in Gyeonggi province as Personal Initiative Trainers. Through the training that started in September 2021, Ms. Park Jiwoo (CEO of InGoodCompany Education Center providing tailor-made trainings for organizations, the senior, and women), Ms. Yoon Jihye (CEO of Endless producing Kids Binder to improve children’s writing habits), and Ms. Lim Hayul (CEO of Solemaman, a home living brand of home & lifestyle products) officially became certified PI trainers. The three PI trainers had opportunities to discover what should be done and changed to make their businesses more sustainable by continuously looking back on their business management and attitude as entrepreneurs during the training. February 18, 2022 – Impact for Breakfast Seoul, launched by the Asia Foundation in 2020, is pleased to share the preliminary ESG policy recommendations to the next President of South Korea. A group of leaders from the private sector, public sector, academia, and civil society met from May to December of 2021 to develop these recommendations. This working group was chaired by Congressman Jung-hoon Cho (Transition Korea Party) and President Jinho Chung (The Wells Investment). The Asia Foundation Supported a Woman-owned Art-technology Company Through the Access to Finance Support

February 3, 2022 - The Asia Foundation supports women entrepreneurs in Gyeonggi province to enhance their accessibility to finance through crowdfunded loans(P2P). Gallery360 is one of the beneficiaries. CEO Shin Hyo Mi founded the company in May 2018 based on her professional background in the IT industry and working experience with artists.
