October 1, 2024 - Dr. Kyungjin SONG, Country Representative of The Asia Foundation Korea Office, participated as a panel speaker for ‘Global Forum on APEC 2025 Korea: Theme and Priorities’ on September 30. The event was hosted in objective to prioritize key agenda for APEC Summit 2025 Korea. Dr. Song spoke in the session on ‘Sustainable and Inclusive Growth’. September 23, 2024 - Dr. Kyungjin SONG, Country Representative of The Asia Foundation (TAF) Korea Office met, September 23, with Dr. Aree MOON, President of the Korea Foundation for Women in Science, Engineer and Technology (WISET), for future collaboration. Recalling the MOU between TAF and WISET signed on July 13, 2023, both parties discussed various initiatives to advance women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) across Asia and the Pacific. It included exchanges of STEM experts, training programs, and next-generation mentoring for women in the region.

The Asia Foundation Korea’s Support for Female IT Students in Mentoring Program

September 4, 2024 - The Asia Foundation (TAF) as part of its STEM ConnectHER (SCH) program supported a training program for a group of IT students and job seekers in the IT industry. ※ STEM ConnectHER (SCH) program aims to strengthen women’s capacity and build networks in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) across Asia by offering various opportunities, including 1:1 mentoring and workplace tours. Participants deepened their understanding of the IT industry through the program. It was organized by the Kwangwoon University-Cisco Innovation Center.
