Launch of STEM ConnectHER Program for Women in STEM in Asia and the Pacific
January 30, 2024 - The Asia Foundation launched the STEM ConnectHER program to support the career development of young women in STEM fields in Asia and the Pacific in 2024. The program includes speaker series, mentoring, industry site visits, learning resources and other various activities. In Korea, the orientation for mentees was held on January 9, 2024, followed by the first speaker series on January 15.
The speaker series, entitled "Dream Big, Fly High: Inspiring the Next Generation of STEM Leaders," featured two women experts from the Aerospace field: Ms. Ji-yeon (Julia) Park, Senior Manager at Pratt & Whitney, and Ms. Jung-beom (Judy) Moon, Connected Aviation Solutions at Collins Aerospace.
During the speaker series moderated by Lee Kyung-sook, Acting Country Representative of The Asia Foundation's Korea Office, the two speakers shared their experiences in the aerospace industry. They provided sincere advice..
